                                                               Reaching the Heart of Salem with the Love of Christ!

Vision and Mission

Vision: To spread a passion for the sovereignty of God and the pure Gospel of Grace in Christ Jesus.

Mission: We believe we are called to spread this passion for the glory of God by:
1. Preaching and teaching Christ from the whole of Scripture;
2. Practicing Christ-centered community;
3. Planting Christ-centered, Gospel-driven, biblical churches in Oregon and abroad;
4. Making a visible difference in the lives of people in the community;
5. Making the Triune God the center of worship on the Lord's Day and in all of life.

Founding Ministry Focus

Worship

We desire to be a worshipping community. Our worship services will be designed to both build up those who believe and to challenge and help those who doubt or seek. Excellent music and worship leading bring both Christians and non-Christians into Christ’s presence as he is exalted. Sunday support ministries and hospitality help newcomers feel welcome.

Community Groups
We desire to be a loving community. The heart of our church is a network of small groups, in which face-to-face friendships, encouragement and caring develop. These groups will be led by members and meet in homes throughout the Willamette Valley. They are also the primary place of prayer for the church and God’s kingdom.

Community Life

We desire to be the family of God in community. Christians are called to provide the support of family relationships for one another: as singles, couples and families. Our children will be nurtured as we pass along the heritage of our faith. We seek to become better friends and family members in Christ.

Our Focus in Later Years

Pastoral Care

We desire to be a supporting community. Through our network of support groups, classes and seminars we will provide a context for Christian growth. We also hope to have counseling services and a team of people who respond to spiritual, emotional, economic and practical needs.

Classes

We desire to be a learning community. Many of us become followers of Jesus with a lack of familiarity with spiritual truth, and rarely a prior Christian background. Our classes will be designed to teach the basics of the faith and help Christians grow into servant leadership. We seek to learn how work with excellence and Christian distinctiveness in our vocations.

Stewardship

We desire to be a generous community. Ministries of administration, placement and financial development match resources (financial, people, skills) with the best place of service within the church.

Mercy

We desire to be a community of mercy. We will encourage our members to develop new ministries to care for the people of the Willamette Valley, especially those who have been pushed to the margins of society. Ultimately, community development and ministries of social service will help reweave the physical and social fabric of our community. We want to love as Jesus loved – in word and deed.

Church Planting

We desire to be a witnessing community. We want to share the good news through our witness here and in major cities worldwide. Our dream is to plant three to five new churches around Oregon and to partner with other PCA churches to begin new works around the entire Pacific Northwest.
