Pastor Dr. Christopher
Bechtel
Pastor Christopher Bechel was selected to pastor Evergreen Church in January 2012. He graduated from Covenant College with a BA in 2004 and from Covenant Seminary with an MDiv in 2008. He was a Youth Leader at Faith PCA (Tacoma) from 2004-2006 and did his Internship at Cornerstone PCA in St Louis, Missouri from 2006-2008. Christopher worked as a Tutor from 2006-2009
both at Covenant Seminary and New College, University of
Edinburgh in Scotland. Since 2009, he has been a Research Fellow
at the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics. Christopher recently
completed his PhD in Hebrew Bible at the Uninversity of
Edinburgh.
While a full time PhD student, Christopher regularly
participated in shepherding God’s people by teaching the Word
and leading worship at Holyrood Abbey. Christopher is married to Jackie, who has a BA from Covenant College. Recent jobs included editing a Scrabble dictionary for Harper Collins and serving as media contact for the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics. While at Holyrood, Jackie took part in: a children's outreach, care of elderly and ill, and a committee rethinking home groups. The Bechtels have two children. |
