The 7th annual Grassroots Music Festival is being hosted on Friday nights at the Evergreen Church of Salem. Every Friday night this April (April 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th), Evergreen Presbyterian Church will be hosting the 7th annual Grassroots Music Concert Series, a series of free concerts all starting at 7 p.m. From its inception, the Grassroots Music Festival has been the only festival in Salem solely dedicated to the celebration of local, original music. Any or every Friday night in April, bring your friends and enjoy the incredible musical and artistic talents in a family-friendly environment. The Grassroots concerts are designed to celebrate
the Salem community, to allow you to sit back and think, "Wow, Salem is a
great place to live; there's some cultural creativity at work here."
With the Grassroots Music Concert Series, Evergreen Church is recognizing
that God, by His common grace, is involved with Christians and
non-Christians alike, giving people creative gifts and talents. We want
to step back and give glory to God for the good things we see happening in
the Salem community. |

One of the best local bluegrass duos in Salem, combining excellent vocals and creative lyrics.
Kristen Grainger and Dan Wetzel will return to Salem for the Grassroots Music Festival, coming home from their concert at the European World of Bluegrass Festival in the Netherlands. Check out their web site at www.truenorthbluegrass.com. |
We play various styles of music, such as: Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, Folk, R&B and Funk. Marci's repertoire consists of about 40 original songs and 30+ covers.

Sig Paulson plays a blend of country, folk, and rhythm and blues - one of
Salem's most creative
musicians. Sig was 2nd place winner of the Gig Harbor folk Festival 2006! The song "Parking Lot Ponies" was featured on "The Best of River City Folk 2006! His music has been described as: "Arlo Guthrie meets Jerry Jeff Walker", and "Jimmy Buffett mixed with country or old-time." www.sigpaulson.com |
The Severin Sisters have been entertaining Northwest audiences since 2001.
The band plays the finest American Roots music with a bit of bluegrass to
show off their exceptional instrumental ability. They are one of the
Northwest's brightest stars. They continue to draw audiences with their wide varieties of music and their exceptional instrumental abilities and vocal harmonies. www.severinsisters.com On this final evening of the concert series, there will be special activities for children -- an inflatable air-jumper castle, face-painting, and refreshments! |
